For us, Sustainable swimwear isn’t just a marketing buzzword. It’s about the materials, the production process, and the lifecycle of the garment.
It is swimwear designed and produced with the environment, people, and longevity in mind. Unlike traditional swimsuits, which often rely on petroleum-based fabrics like nylon and elastane and contribute to waste and microplastic pollution, sustainable swimwear focuses on reducing environmental and social impact throughout its lifecycle.
Eco-Friendly Materials
- Recycled fabrics: Many sustainable swimsuits use materials like ECONYL® (nylon regenerated from fishing nets and fabric waste) or Repreve® (made from recycled plastic bottles). At Tucca Swim, we are partnered with ECONYL® and used regenerated nylon to create our swimwear.
- Biodegradable or organic fabrics: Some brands experiment with plant-based fibers or organic cotton blends.
2. Ethical Production
Tucca Swim manufactures all of its swimwear in London and Portugal, ensuring that every piece meets our high standards for quality and fair pay. Sustainable Swimwear for us also comes down to small-batch and close to home manufacturing to help reduce overproduction and carbon footprint.
Longevity Over Fast Fashion
Our message is to Invest in high-quality pieces that last longer and reduces the frequency of replacement, curbing overall textile waste.
The Tucca Swim collections focus on timeless designs over seasonal trends.
